Novus Welcomes Wind & Snow Expert, Bill Waechter, C.E.T.
Novus’ building design team has been greatly enhanced by the addition of Bill Waechter, Senior Microclimate Specialist. Bill offers 33 years of experience in microclimate consulting, modelling and assessment across a variety of sectors including: Education, Health Care, Science and Technology, Transportation and high and low-rise Commercial/Residential design. Bill adds to our expert staff of Darron Chin-Quee (Acoustics), Brad Pridham (Vibration) and Jason Slusarczyk (Air Quality), strengthening our integrated approach to building design consultation.
Bill has provided expert guidance on wind and snow effects during concept design, master planning and detailed design phases of projects. His design guidance encompasses pedestrian wind comfort, solar reflectance/shadows, snow impacts (drifting, loading, infiltration) and natural ventilation. His experience of directing multi-discipline teams has also provided him with an insight to potential exhaust dispersion and noise issues when devising microclimate mitigation.
Bill’s experience also includes forensic field work and first-hand opportunities to investigate and develop practical mitigation for pedestrian wind comfort problems, building exhaust and indoor air quality issues and problematic snowdrift impacts. He has directed 100’s of projects throughout North America and around the globe, including Antarctica and other cold regions.
We are excited to have Bill on board as he shares our enthusiasm for technical excellence and dedication to client service.
