Novus Welcomes Don Lewis, Senior Specialist in Sustainability and Water Management
Novus works to provide our clients with comprehensive and innovative solutions to the sustainability challenges of today’s complex global economy. The firm has recently expanded its capabilities with the addition of Don Lewis, Senior Specialist in Sustainability and Water Management. Don brings 29 years of water related experience in the private, not for profit and public sectors to the Novus team. He has provided consulting services in most sectors of the economy including oil and gas, hydroelectric, automotive, iron and steel, mining and pulp and paper. His work has included monitoring and assessment of industrial and municipal effluents, environmental impact monitoring, water and wastewater treatment and urban water management. He has also been involved in the development of innovative technologies in the water sector and has managed a number of large interdisciplinary R&D projects involving academics, private industry and government.
Don brings a systems approach to water management that emphasises developing a comprehensive understanding of the context before developing appropriate resource efficient and cost saving solutions. Don works closely with Novus atmospherics group which can provide an understanding of future climate, water availability and land use scenarios before developing appropriate adaptive and integrated solutions for industry and government clients.
Typically solutions can include integrated water, wastewater and storm water management that emphasizes a demand side approach. Rainwater harvesting, water re-use, green roofs and urban agriculture can all play a role in improving resource efficiency. This opportunistic and comprehensive approach can also include applications in distributed water and energy.
Novus is happy to welcome Don to our team as we continue to work with our clients to “harmonize the built and natural environment”.
