Brad is a specialist in all aspects of acoustics, with a special interest in vibration control related to structural systems. He earned his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering at McMaster University in 2004, with a focus on modal analysis of structural systems subjected to wind, earthquake and other environmental loads. He joined the consulting field in 2004, and has since worked on hundreds of high profile projects throughout Canada and the world. Brad is the technical leader of the vibration group at Novus and is responsible for project management, technical development and senior level consultation with clients.
His project experience includes active involvement in building design for health care, labs, institutional (justice, corrections, civic centres, museum), higher education, K-12 education, science & technology, industrial, high-rise residential, and land-use approval. His expertise has also been applied to the design of long-span highway and pedestrian bridges, industrial machine installations involving vibration control, and assisting building owners with the solution of wind-induced noise (aeroacoustic) problems associated with architectural façade elements. He has published several refereed journal and conference papers on parameter estimation, floor vibration and ground-borne vibration, and has presented at several symposia throughout North America. Brad is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
