Summary

Novus conducted a noise technical study on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation Ontario, Ontario Ministry of Environment and Metrolinx. The objective of the assignment was to determine the best noise prediction algorithms and models for Ontario. The types of noise sources addressed in study included highway, transit (i.e., bus, light rail and subway) and heavy rail. This complex study also included numerous technical discussions between Novus and the Steering Committee in order to derive the final recommendation that will likely be reflected in a new provincial policy for noise assessment.
