Environmental Vibration

Ground-borne or structure-borne vibration can create adverse impacts on nearby residences and sensitive land uses.Typical vibration sources include light rail rapid transit, freight and passenger rail, heavy roadway vehicles, and large-scale industries. Types of impacts can range from perceptible and non-perceptible vibration; vibration-induced noise; and rattling (induced vibration) of lightweight structures, such as windows.

Novus can measure and predict potential vibration impacts from these sources, and can develop source-based, path-based, and receptor-based mitigation measures to ensure that applicable guidelines are met and that the potential for impacts is minimized.
